MARTYN BELL
LOCATION: Killarney, County Kerry
STYLE: Impressionistic Realism
Martyn Bell was born in 1941, a self taught painter he has developed his painting into various areas, acrylic, oil and now mainly watercolour.
Combining handmade papers and original techniques with his own unique interpretation, Martyn has created a series of startling and diverse images. All of his work involves paper, water and traditional pigments so he describes them as watercolour but he introduces less traditional materials and presentations into some pieces.
Martyn has been painting since the early 70’s, he moved to Ireland in ’95 this being his second solo exhibition here, he is by no means a newcomer to the art scene, his work can be found in private collections across Britain, Ireland, the USA and Canada.
