Stephen grew up in rural North Co. Dublin, among the fields and shores of Irelands market garden. Graduating with a BAhons in Animation from the University of Wolverhampton he spent many years working in Irelands animation industry.

In 2022 his paintings were chosen for the RHA summer show and so began his career as a professional artist. Stephens art practice reflects his appreciation of time and nature. Evident in wonderful tree portraits, time worn structures and textures spaces in oils and charcoal.
